Transportation Program Specialist 2-Environmental
Up to $66,795 annually
Duluth, MN

 
Provide assistance to ensure that highway construction and maintenance projects are developed in an environmentally sensitive manner by evaluating the risk for environmental impacts and preparing environmental documentation, wetland delineation and permitting, wildlife biology, ecology and erosion and sediment control best management practices for MnDOT District 1 to determine compliance with local, state and federal requirements.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
·        A bachelor’s degree in Water Resources, Environmental Science (or closely related field) and one year of related experience; OR
Two years of professional experience in water resources, environmental science (or closely related field);
·        Valid Class D driver’s license or equivalent.


 Please include information on your resume that demonstrates your experience in the following areas:
·        Knowledge of Federal and Minnesota environmental laws, regulations, policies, practices, and procedures
·        Background writing environmental documents on issues such as wetlands and other natural resources
·        Knowledge of wetland delineation principles, wetland permit requirements and wetland conservation

If you meet the above requirements, you will be assessed on the following during the interview:
·        Human relations skills sufficient to effectively and diplomatically bring diverse individuals and groups together to achieve consensus among conflicting interests
