The Staff/Clinical Pharmacist provides for inpatient pharmaceutical needs according to physician orders and in conformance with established standards, polices and procedures, and state and federal laws. Performs the day-to-day professional operations of the department which includes drug acquisition, distribution, monitoring, identifying, resolving and preventing drug-related problems that may affect optimal patient care outcomes and to research and communicate medication information to our medical and nursing staff members as well as to all ancillary services. Primary duties include: maintenance of the patient profile in Meditech in response to physician orders (electronic and/or written); distribution of medications through the IV admixture program, unit dose program and Omnicell system; monitoring of patient allergies and adverse reactions to medications; monitoring patient response to drug therapy and management of Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee approved drug protocols, pharmacist managed dosing protocols and therapeutic drug substitution. The pharmacist is responsible for supervision of pharmacy technicians as defined by Kansas Pharmacy Law. Additional duties may include drug utilization review and quality improvement initiatives.                                                                                                        

Requirements: Graduation from an accredited school of Pharmacy. Current license to practice Pharmacy from the Kansas State Board of Pharmacy. Previous experience in a hospital pharmacy preferred. Must be able to withstand stressful situations both physically and emotionally. Must be able to respond rapidly to an emergency.
