Environmental Health Scientist 2

The Louisiana Department of Health’s Indoor Environmental Quality Education Service Program (http://ldh.la.gov/index.cfm/page/829) is housed in the Section of Environmental Epidemiology & Toxicology (SEET). The environmental health scientist 2 will assist in the administration and coordination of the section’s statewide Indoor Environmental Quality Education Service Program. The environmental health scientist 2 will also execute outreach activities and provide support to the other SEET Programs as needed. 

Job Duties:
Job duties include, but are not limited to, coordinating and providing consultations to Louisiana citizens’ questions and concerns regarding indoor environmental quality through telephone consultations and written correspondence; maintaining database of all consultations; preparing and disseminating Indoor environmental Quality (IEQ) information and related health risks; coordinates all IEQ walk-through investigations in public schools, state buildings and other locations when directed; compiling written reports of the investigations; making recommendations to improve indoor environmental quality related to the investigations; coordinating trainings for sanitarians and building managers and maintenance staff of state and local buildings and public schools; maintain IEQ portion of the SEET website ensuring all information is up to date. Some report/technical writing and oral presentations will also be required.
