Software Engineer Extern
Triplebyte, in partnership with Tido Carriero (Chief Product Development Office @ Segment), is facilitating matchmaking for 'Just-in-Time' Externship Opportunities for CS students and tech companies. Right now, many companies aren’t able to afford traditional internship programs, but students are still looking for engineering experience and mentorship. We can help by connecting qualified students with engineering mentors for hands-on experience this summer.
The list of companies that are hiring externs through this program is still expanding, but includes small to mid-stage startups looking for engineering students with experience in full-stack work, front-end and back-end. Externs will operate fully remotely, under the guidance of a dedicated engineering mentor. If you're selected as an extern, you'll be working on real engineering projects that impact both the company's product and your learning goals. The focus of the project and tech stack will differ depending on the company and the position, and we'll do our best to match students with roles that are interesting to them.
All details of the position, including start/end dates, compensation (these positions are open to whatever a company can afford to provide, including unpaid positions for those companies that are only able to offer engineering mentorship without pay), hours, and equipment needs, are unique to each company and will be communicated to you if you're offered an externship position.
The application process is designed to be simple for students and informative for companies. Here's how you apply:
- Visit triplebyte.com/externship for more information and to begin your application
- The first step is to complete the Triplebyte Entry-Level assessment (either Full Stack, or Front-End, depending on your strengths!)
- If you complete that successfully, you will be emailed a link to fill out a form with more information about yourself, your availability, and your interests
- The last step is to completeTriplebyte's automated interview (or, in some cases, our live interview on VC with one of our engineering interviewers) so that we know we have the best information possible in order to pair you
- After that, matches will be provided to companies. We do not expect that companies will conduct an interview process for themselves, but they may wish to have a call with you to gauge your fit for their position.
Applications close on June 17th, and we ask all partner companies to commit to providing offers by the end of June.
