PURPOSE: The senior revenue accountant role, reports directly to the senior manager of technical accounting & SEC reporting, is responsible for ensuring the Company is recording revenue in accordance with US GAAP.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Review sales contracts, customer purchase orders, sales orders, invoices, shipping documents, and any other relevant customer correspondence to ensure proper accounting treatment
  • Perform reconciliation of revenue accounts
  • Maintain excellent records to support SOX compliance for internal and external reporting requirements
  • Work with sales, service and any other pertinent departments to resolve difficult/risky/non-compliant transactions
  • Prepare quarter end reporting for Auditors, SEC reporting, and internal management reporting
  • Prepare memos and whitepapers on revenue accounting topics as needed
  • Participate in and support strategic projects and ensure that revenue recognition requirements are considered and adhered to
  • Provide continuous process improvement and innovation as applicable
  • Prepare analytics for senior management as requested
  • Review revenue transactions and business practices and update according to new accounting standards as they arise
  • Advise management of issues requiring their attention
  • Provide backup for other positions as requested
QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
  • Minimum of 4 years of accounting experience with 2+ years of revenue recognition experience
  • Public accounting experience preferred.
  • CPA preferred
  • Strong knowledge of and ability to apply professional accounting principles and concepts (US GAAP)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of revenue recognition rules (ASC 606)
  • Excellent verbal and writing skills
  • Familiar with SOX controls and documentation.
  • Highly accurate and detail oriented
  • Excellent financial analysis skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools
  • Experience working with an integrated ERP system
  • Ability to work with and gain cooperation from people at all levels of the company
  • Willing and able to work overtime as necessary to meet deadlines, and complete special projects
