Product Management Associate - Tysons

POSITION OVERVIEW

As a Product Management Associate for Building36, you’ll have the chance to develop innovative solutions for our partners in a fast-paced, small team environment. As a subsidiary of Alarm.com, Building36 brings products and features to market that enable the success of their partners as well as the over 5 million subscribers in the interactive security channel for Alarm.com.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Your job responsibilities will include:

  • Becoming the product expert and liaison for your area of expertise
  • Communicate with members from each department of Building36 and Alarm.com to assess goals, priorities, incentives, and strategy
  • Driving the product development life cycle - Writing product specifications, testing new features, managing beta programs, creating documentation and supporting existing products
  • A detailed understanding of how our home automation functionality works from low-level firmware operation up to cloud-based data aggregation and distribution to user interfaces and third parties
  • Ensuring that revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met for your projects
  • Working with engineering, support, sales and high profile partners to resolve product issues
  • Planning the go-to-market strategy for new products – Collaborating with engineering, sales, supply chain and other teams, educating stakeholders, and delivering product presentations
  • Conducting market research – Gathering feedback from customers and analyzing the market landscape
  • Championing enhancements to existing products

REQUIREMENTS

  • B.S. or B.A. from a competitive school with strong academic performance, ME, CE, or CS degree preferred
  • 0-3 years of relevant experience, including internships 
  • Strong quantitative, analytical and critical thinking abilities
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Passion for consumer technology and interest in developing a deep understanding of complex products and technologies
  • Strong computer skills (e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • General knowledge of business, economics and/or finance

Experience in any of the following areas is a plus: Electrical engineering, computer programming, computer networking, RF technologies, machine learning, voice applications, cellular/wireless technology, math and statistics, user interface design, web/mobile development, home security systems, customer service, CRM systems, and smart home automation.
