Motion Graphics Intern (Remote) - Fall 2020

NPR’s Fall 2020 Internship Program will be fully remote. 
Program Duration: September 8 - December 11, 2020
The Motion Graphics Intern will assist in creating original 2D animation and motion graphics for a range of editorial projects, spanning the NPR newsroom, podcasting and NPR Music. We look for animators who can work in a range of styles and who can translate big ideas into smart and compelling visuals. This is a paid, full-time, 40-hour a week internship working remotely. It will require occasional late nights/odd hours.
INTERN RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assists in creating original 2D animation and motion graphics for a range of editorial projects, spanning the newsroom, podcasting and NPR Music
  • Assists with miscellaneous video projects across NPR
  • Projects may include creating animation for existing music video series and news explainers, creating visual content for our social platforms like Instagram and TikTok, and participating in ideation of new video projects. 
WHO CAN APPLY?
  • LOCATION: Must be planning to work during the term of the Fall 2020 internship in the United States and authorized to work in the United States. 
  • EDUCATION: Must be a current student in an accredited degree program or a recent graduate of no more than 12 months from the month of the start of the internship. 
  • TECHNOLOGY: Must have access to a personal computer, phone, and reliable internet.
REQUIRED
  • Easily-located links to work samples or online portfolio in application
  • Strong skills with After Effects, Illustrator, and Photoshop
  • Aptitude in storytelling through editing & scripting
  • Evidence of being highly-organized, detail-oriented, and technologically savvy
  • Ability to follow directions precisely and handle multiple tasks
  • Ability to be generally awesome and able to work well with awesome people
  • Availability full-time
  • Personal computer
PREFERRED
  • Experience shooting and editing video 
  • Skills in Adobe Premiere
