Data Management & Analytics Student Assistant
General Job Description:
· Provide data management to Excelling@Iowa system. This includes system settings and .csv file uploads.
· Provide analysis of Excelling@Iowa data for presentations, policy recommendations, and program revisions.
· Clean, prepare, interpret, and display institutional data and Excelling@Iowa data for distribution to campus partners.
· Provide written reports based on analysis of institutional, departmental, or Excelling@Iowa data.
· Provide data management to Supplemental Instruction attendance tracking data and course rosters.
· Provide analysis of Supplemental Instruction final semester course grades and evaluations.
· Provide support in the creation and analysis of departmental assessments.
· Complete other assignments as dictated by supervisors.
Qualifications for the position:
· Must be enrolled as at least a part-time undergraduate or graduate student at The University of Iowa for Fall 2019 and eligible to work 15-20 hours/week during business hours (Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.).
· 3.0 UI Cumulative grade point average or better.
· Must have training in regression or higher level statistics.
· Must have experience with R, SPSS, STATA, or SAS.
· Must have experience with visual data elements, such as Piktochart, Microsoft PowerPoint, Prezi.
· Must have strong skills in Microsoft Excel and moderate skills in Microsoft Access or DBVis.
· Must have strong ethics and follow all laws and legal obligations to student privacy.
· Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
Compensation for the position:
· $11/hour for 15-20 hours per week.
