Art Marketing & Sales Manager

Position: Art Marketing / Sales Manager
(Opened for internship applicants as well)
 
General information
  • Work schedule: full time (15-20 hours per week for Interns)
  • Location:
a. Now to September 2020: Remote, from home and on Zoom
b. After September 2020: TBD

  • Trial period: Three months
  • Salary range: Paid with sales commission

Who should apply 
  • You are Bachelor or Master (preferable) graduates majored in modern and contemporary art history, art management, or art business, and you are interested in working for art galleries, art fairs, auction houses, or art advisory firms 
  • You are majored in Marketing, Business, Economics, or Law with interest and knowledge in modern and contemporary art history (1900-present)
  • You have a regular job with a lot of extra energy and spare time to nurture your passion for modern and contemporary art history and art business
  • You are bilingual with proficiency in English and Chinese Mandarin (preferable)
  • You have had work experience in marketing and/or selling fine artworks, or assisted to manage commercial art endeavors (galleries, consulting firms, advertisement/PR/design companies, etc.)
  • You have strong willingness and ambitions of becoming a powerful art marketing/sales professional 
Requirements
  • Excellent communication skills, resourceful solution provider 
  • Self-starter with proactive attitude. You are creative, can think out of the box 
  • Experience in branding and promoting small business especially art or cultural endeavors
  • Online social media guru, great storyteller with excellent writing skills, know how to combine images and texts to build interesting narratives
  • Microsoft Office, Final Cut Pro (or at least iMovie), Photoshop (or Illustrator, InDesign)
  • sense of responsibility, organizational skills. Plan ahead of action, can meet deadlines
  • Rational, strategic, persistent, do not get discouraged easily by rejections
  • Patience and diplomacy, can handle sensitive topics with strategy and tact 
  • Strong willingness of becoming a powerful art marketing/sales professional
Your responsibilities
  • Branding
a. Research and develop the most efficient branding strategies and tools for JY&A​
b. Promote JY&A's brand, culture, people, and products (services and works of art) on social media platforms such as FB, Ins, twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, WeChat (Chinese Mandarin), zai-art.com (Chinese Mandarin), etc. 
  • Marketing/Promotion
a. Create attractive stories based on JY&A's background and facts for the promotion of JY&A and its services
b. Research and develop JY&A's collaboration with bloggers, online and offline media
c. Explore or create new marketing strategies, tools, platforms, channels to promote JY&A​
d. Design an efficient marketing/promotion plan for JY&A, and execute it
  • Work on/with JY&A website 
a. Improve the current website structure and content, work on SEO and Google analytics, make the website more users friendly
b. Drive JY&A website's traffic, increase JY&A subscribers 
  • Sales
a. Make online sales from JY&A online gallery and social media platforms​
b. Explore new sales channels and platforms (including e-commerce platforms) 
c. Develop new buyers for JY&A
d. Develop new commercial projects for JY&A in the following industries: real-estate, fashion, luxury, architecture and interior design, etc.
  • Coordinate with JY&A artists and collaborators, conduct interviews and/or work meetings, work with JY&A owner and the artists on art salons and special projects
  • Work with the owner and her Assistant on writings, graphic design, documentation, of exhibitions, special projects, media campaign, social media promotion, and newsletters
  • Work with the owner and her assistant on JY&A live video streaming production
