Provide leadership to all operations, functions, and employees of the plant. Create environment of respect and responsibility through professional communication, accountability, budget consciousness, team work, quality, safety and security.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.
1. Administers plans and directs plant operations while continually striving for improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
2. Works within approved budget while developing and implementing cost saving measures which will contribute to overall profits and revenue to the organization.
3. Assists with overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of plant operations. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
4. Manages competing demands and changes approach or method to best fit the situation.
5. Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner by gathering and analyzing information skillfully. Works well in group problem solving situations and develops alternative solutions.
6. Creates a positive team with the ability to build morale and group commitments to goals and objectives.
7. Ability to manage projects by creating workable plans; communicates changes effectively and builds commitment and overcomes resistance.
8. Understands business implications of decisions while displaying an orientation to profitability.
9. Develops realistic action plans, by prioritizing and planning work activities. Plans for additional resources as needed.
10. Includes staff in planning, decision-making, facilitating and process improvement. Makes oneself available to staff, provides regular performance feedback, develops subordinates' skills and encourages growth.
11. Ability to react well under pressure. Treats others with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position. Accepts responsibility for own actions and follows through on commitments.
12. Leads and guides all Quality and Food Safety policies and procedures, reporting any nonconformity
13. Leads and guides all Safety policies and procedures, reporting any nonconformity
14. Leads and guides GMP policies and procedures, reporting any nonconformity

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED), preferred
• Prior experience in dairy or food production, manufacturing, industrial process operations or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
• Knowledge of SQF, HACCP, GMP's, OSHA and loss control programs is highly desirable

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Physical Demands – Employee is frequently (more than 75% of time) required to: use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls, sit; to verbally communicate; and to hear. The employee is frequently (up to 60% of the time) required to walk and stand. The employee must occasionally (up to 20% of the time) lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

• Work Environment – Employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock, wet work conditions, fumes or airborne participles. Employee is frequently exposed to refrigerated or warm temperatures. Employee is regularly exposed to chemicals during sanitation processes. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

• Protective Equipment – Personal protective equipment is required depending on the job being performed, including protective eye wear, or face shields, hearing protection, hair and beard nets, uniforms, and boots. Additional equipment is required working with chemicals, such as rubber gloves and use of chemical proof aprons as appropriate for job being performed.
