School Business Administrator
The BOCES Business Administrator reports to the Assistant Superintendent for Administrative Services.
The BOCES Business Administrator is responsible for the following programs:
-BOCES Business Operations (payroll, accounts payable, aid, CoSer billing)
-Central Business Office (with the Treasurer)
-Medicaid billing
-Assisting Assistant Superintendent for Administrative Services (all aspects)
The BOCES Business Administrator will perform some or all of the following duties and responsibilities:
-Maintain a sound and efficient system of accounting for the General Fund, Capital Funds, Special Aid Funds, and Petty Cash Funds
-Maintain a sound purchasing procedure including the request for bids and awarding of bids
-Administer the appraisal and inventory control program
-Assure the timely development/submission of the annual BOCES budget and all financial reports for submission to SED/NYS Comptroller
-Provide all information necessary for official audits
-Participate on the BOCES Audit Committee
-Assist the Treasurer with the oversight of the Central Business Office including personnel management
-Serve as a liaison between the BBO/CBO and the business officials in the component districts
-Supervise the Medicaid billing process and assure compliance with all laws and regulations
-Assist the Assistant Superintendent for Administrative Services with policy development
-Oversee requisitioning and purchasing of supplies and equipment; serve as the Purchasing Agent
-Assure COSER development and compliance
-Serve as the liaison for BOCES and serves as the Accountant/Treasurer for the Health Insurance Consortium
-Initiate effective communication, planning, and participatory involvement with staff, advisory groups, agencies, employers, and other entities
-Prepare data for submission of the Consolidated Fiscal Report for SED Rate Setting Unit
-Perform all other duties as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent for Administrative Services or the District Superintendent

Qualifications:
-Certification as a School Business Administrator or a School District Business Leader or appropriate Civil Service title
-Valid NYS driver’s license
