Veterinarian
Durbin Vet Clinic is a mixed animal practice located 30 miles south of Effingham, IL currently seeking to add an associate veterinarian. The practice consists of 65% large animals (predominantly bovine) and 35% small animals. The clinic is in a rural community but only 90 miles from St. Louis. It is also located close to local and state parks.
The clinic is outfitted with Abaxis Chemistry and CBC machines, two portable BCF Technology ultrasounds, and an in-house ultrasound for small animals. The surgery room is equipped with gas anesthesia, Cardell monitoring system, and digital radiography. The dental machine is equipped with an air/water gun, scaler, polisher, and drill. The clinic provides an isolation ward for sick animals and monitoring cameras for doctors to observe patients overnight. The clinic has a large animal haul in facility complete with a hydraulic chute system as well as portable/travel hydraulic and manual chutes.
The candidate will share after-hour emergency services with the two other veterinarians at the practice. Our veterinarian’s normal work week consists of four 10-hour days. This allows doctors multiple day weekends. Each veterinarian is provided with a vet truck; the clinic pays for vehicle gas and repairs.
Salary is extremely competitive with base salary plus monthly production incentives. Emergency calls are also paid incentives. Fringe benefits included are health insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan, paid 2 weeks’ vacation, paid sick/personal days, dues paid for AVMA, ISVMA, and 1 other veterinary organization. A continuing education allowance is also provided.
