Essential Duties and Responsibilities

As a Staff Environmental Scientist, you will be responsible for many field-related aspects of small and large-scale environmental projects, including performing assessments of critical areas and writing critical area reports. This field component of our critical areas assessment generally consists of delineating wetlands, assessing the project site and project vicinity for the presence of priority habitats and wildlife conservation areas. Site evaluations also include assessing mitigation potential.  You will also be monitoring remedial projects, documenting your file review and field observations in field reports. In addition, you will have an opportunity to contribute to report writing and proposal activities for a number of different projects. Additional field duties may include assisting our Geotechnical Team.

Qualifications

  • BS in Environmental Science, Watershed Science, Geology or equivalent required; Masters preferred
  • Ability to perform wide range of physical activities and field work
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Proven ability to be a problem solver
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite
  •  Proficiency with ArcGIS and GPS technology is preferred
  • Valid driver’s license required.
