Post-doctoral Fellow - Bioinformatics

The Lessard laboratory is seeking a highly motivated, self-starter, Post-doctoral Fellow with the ability to work with optimal resources and little direct supervision to address important questions in the genetics and genomics of the autoimmune diseases Sjögren’s syndrome, systemic lupus erythematosus, and neuromyelitis optica. Successful candidates will be proficient in the analysis of genetic data, high-throughput sequencing data and the use of bioinformatics software and databases. The lab is currently interested in bulk and single cell RNA-seq, long non-coding RNAs, ChIP-Seq, ATAC-seq, whole genome sequencing, spatial transcriptomics, scRNA-seq, and SNP-phenotype associations. The lab also has uses molecular approaches to further understand function of genomic features that will work closely with the analyst. Software used in the lab include but not limited to the following: python, UNIX/LINIX, R (and various genomics packages), GATK, HISAT2, PLINK, and MATRIXeqtl.

Minimum Qualifications
Ph.D., M.D., or Ph.D./M.D. Previous experience in biostatistics and/or human genetics/genomics is required. Must have at least one first author publication. Good written skills necessary. Ability to communicate and write summaries of results required.

Preferred Qualifications
Ideally would have at least two publications with one or more first author, peer-reviewed, English manuscripts in human genetics or genomics. Previous experience with analytical methodologies described above would be ideal.
