Post-doctoral Fellow - Autoimmune disease

Department: Genes & Human Disease - Lessard

The Lessard Laboratory is seeking a highly motivated, self-starter, Post-doctoral Fellow with the ability to work with optimal resources and little direct supervision to address important questions in the genetics and genomics of the autoimmune diseases Sjögren’s syndrome, systemic lupus erythematosus, and neuromyelitis optica. Successful candidates will be proficient in techniques such as transracial mapping, high-throughput sequencing of DNA, RNA, and methylation, flow cytometry, cell culture, electrophoretic mobility shift assays, chromosome conformation capture, chromatin immunoprecipitation, handling and differentiation of adult inducible pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs), and genome editing using CRISPR/Cas9 or similar approaches. Competitive individuals will also have some experience in the analysis of genetic data, high-throughput sequencing data and the use of bioinformatics software.

Minimum Qualifications
Ph.D., M.D., or Ph.D./M.D. Previous experience in basic human genetics and/or genomics is required. Must have at least one first author publication. Good written skills necessary. Ability to communicate and write summaries of results required.

Preferred Qualifications
Ideally would have at least two publications with one or more first author, peer-reviewed, English manuscripts in human genetics or genomics. Experience with molecular techniques and analytical methodologies described above would be ideal.
