Volunteer Tutor

The closure of schools that began in the spring has served to only widen the educational gap between economically disadvantaged students and others. With school closures taking place for the foreseeable future it is imperative that we give economically disadvantaged students the attention they need to not fall behind.

Pandemicprofessors.org, a 501c3 nonprofit organization, was founded in April by UC Berkeley alumni to achieve this mission. It is a 100% volunteer-based organization. We have partnered with a national job training nonprofit to provide educational help to the children of the low-income parents in their programs. We are also connecting with underserved schools and districts across the country to help disparaged and at-risk youth. We will be seeing a huge influx of students and we are asking tutors with a wide range of skills and interests to volunteer with us.

As a tutor, you are the lifeblood of this organization and are the one delivering services. You will interact with families and help the student perform and learn!

Requirements:
  • 2 or more hours per week commitment (flexibility for midterms and finals)
  • Tutoring experience is helpful but not required. We offer training and support.
