VIRTUAL & PAID - Leadership Development Internship

Are you interested in a fully remote internship that will also give you leadership experience?

The NSLS is the nation's largest leadership honor society. Students are selected by their college for membership based on either academic standing or leadership potential. Candidacy is a nationally recognized achievement of honorable distinction. With 700+ chapters, the NSLS currently has over 1 million members nationwide. 

In addition to honorable distinction, the NSLS provides a step-by-step program for members to build their leadership skills through participation at their campus or online. Upon completion of the program, members receive their leadership certificate and take their place among the top student leaders at their campus and across the country. Members are able to list their affiliation on all statements of personal accomplishment, including their resume. 

Membership provides access to benefits including scholarships and awards, exclusive on-campus events, employer recruitment through an online job bank, and discounts on computers, textbooks, grad school prep courses, insurance and much more.

What are the duties of the internship for the first semester or term?

-Lead and facilitate the leading involvement based leadership program at your campus (in-person or online).
-Attend live webinar training one hour per day for five consecutive days.
-Participate in all weekly calls with National Office
-Find a qualified advisor(s)
-Arrange an introductory conference call with Advisor and the National Office
-Recruit at least 4 additional executive board members
-Register as a student organization and/or seek sponsorship from a campus department
-Arrange a conference call with the National Office, Advisor and the appropriate campus administrator who oversees clubs and/or leadership programs
-Work with Advisor and the National Office to secure a student list and materials to invite students to participate in the leadership program

How many hours do I need to commit weekly?

The Internship Program is flexible and can be planned around your class schedule. It requires approximately 7-10 hours per week.

What are the qualities the NSLS is seeking in an Intern?

All candidates will go through a hiring process. The pre-requisites include:

-Minimum of 3.0 overall GPA
-Demonstrated leadership experience or abilities
