Grants Manager

KVC Health Systems, headquartered in the greater Kansas City area, is a private, nonprofit 501(c)3 organization and a national leader in child welfare and behavioral healthcare. The organization is committed to its mission of enriching and enhancing the lives of children and families by providing medical and behavioral healthcare, social services, and education.
KVC Health Systems is seeking to hire a Grants Manager. The Grants Manager will identify, define and develop funding sources to support existing and planned program activities for KVC Kansas. The Grants Manager will coordinate, develop, write and submit grant proposals to government (federal, state, local), foundation and corporate funding prospects, as well as monitor and manage reporting deadlines. This position is a member of the KVC Health Systems Development team and reports to the Vice President of Development. This position is also an active member of the KVC Kansas team and engages with the KVC Kansas Leadership team for program understanding, strategies, priorities and guidance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Other duties may be assigned according to qualification of staff and development of programs.
•Monitor, identify and gather all RFI, RFP and other funding opportunities that fit with the mission, vision and strategic goals of KVC Kansas Serve as lead on grant opportunities through organizing, writing, reviewing and submission of all proposals.
•Generate program, general operating and capital support through timely submission of well researched, well written and well documented proposals.
•Perform research and evaluate funding prospects for KVC Kansas locally and nationally.
•Work with finance staff to develop proposal budgets and provide necessary information to prospective and current funders.
•Work with KVC Kansas leadership and program staff to gather all necessary information to produce high quality proposals. 
•Develop partnerships with universities and other organizations that can serve as research partners on grant proposals Comply with all grant tracking and reporting requirements as outlined by funders and management.
•Provide stewardship to current funders, including working with KVC Communications team.
•Make appointments for KVC KS staff to meet with funders as well as arrange onsite funder tours as appropriate.
•Maintain centralized grant files by recording grant activity in the Raiser’s Edge database and as required in paper files.
•Maintain grant proposal submission and reporting calendars, communicating deadlines monthly to management staff.
•Understand and continue to learn of institutional history and programs. Assist with other fundraising projects as requested.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Minimum Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university; or minimum five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
 Licensure/Certification: Valid driver’s license and auto insurance
Experience: Five years’ experience and a proven track record as a grant professional Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Adobe Professional Working knowledge of foundation research online platforms Experience with Federal, State and Foundation grants Excellent oral and written communication skills Experience working in a deadline-drive, fast-paced environment Motivated self-starter Able to work well in a team environment, handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines autonomously Able to monitor and meet revenue goals Able to travel to locations in Kansas and Missouri, primarily within the greater KC metro area as requested.
Preferred Experience/Skills:
Preferred working knowledge of Raiser’s Edge NXT, Guidestar, Foundation Center Online, Instrumental, as well as other funder research data sources
