Johnson Lambert 2021 Tax Associate

We are currently seeking Tax Associates to join our growing team. What’s the job like?
  • Actively participate in client engagements from start to finish, including planning, completing tax projects, and working within a budget
  • Research tax issues and consult with clients
  • Work with team to develop new ways to solve client business problems
  • Actively participate as a team member to complete projects and assigned tasks
  • Assist with proposal development and research as directed
  • Supervise, train, and mentor new associates and interns on tax processes
  • Plan work in appropriate priorities and sequences
  • Proactively communicate with appropriate management regarding work status, schedule requests, and time/budget variances, etc.
  • Communicate with clients to resolve tax-related matters
  • Manage work time appropriately to ensure client expectations and deadlines are consistently met
  • Develop professional relationships with clients and demonstrate appropriate behavior at all times at client site
  • Maintain professional standards of the firm and client confidentially
  • Learn about current tax practices and changes in the tax legislation
  • Develop technical skills through on the job experience and formal channels, such as seminars, etc.
  • Build strong working relationships at peer and client levels
  • Demonstrate an active interest in the business world by keeping abreast of market trends and business developments (includes external and internal resources – intranet, financial publications, etc.)
  • Maintain professional standards of the firm and client confidentiality

What you’ll need for success:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and requisite hours to sit for the CPA exam
  • 0-3 years of experience
  • Desire to work in public accounting
  • A strong track record of leadership and related extracurricular activities
  • Ability to work additional hours as needed
