2021 REIA Project Analyst - Intern

Make your mark. Plante Moran Real Estate Investment Advisors (PM REIA) specializes in real estate investment advisory and personal wealth management services including portfolio strategy, asset management, capital markets, and acquisition/disposition for private and institutional clients. The Plante Moran REIA Team consists of highly trained multidiscipline real estate professionals with significant direct expertise in a wide array of commercial real estate matters including project feasibility, capital markets, portfolio planning, tax credits and development.

Your role.
As a project analyst, you’ll be able to assist in providing project support for all aspects of real estate investment advisory services including portfolio strategy, asset management, capital markets and acquisition/disposition. Your work will include, but not be limited to:

  • Monitoring market and industry trends, proactively identifying trends that could impact real estate holdings.
  • Supporting the project team to analyze and underwrite potential new investment opportunities.
  • Preparing detailed financial models utilizing Argus and Excel to support client engagements.
  • Assisting in the preparation of period investment reporting to clients.
  • Working with team members to develop annual property budgets and provide ongoing monitoring.
  • Preparing materials and presentations to prospective new clients.
  • Communicating with third party service providers, including property managers, leasing brokers, lenders, etc.
  • Assisting in the procurement of debt and equity to support acquisitions and recapitalizations.
  • Enhancing client relationships through award winning service, follow-up and successful project completion.
  • Ensuring implementation and compliance of PM and PM REIA policies and procedures on projects.

The qualifications.
  • Detail-oriented leader with interpersonal, problem solving, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in architecture, construction, real estate development or finance.
  • Experience with assisting in development or construction projects
  • Academic success (a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0).

This is a non-exempt position, so you may have to work hours that exceed the standard 40-hour work week. This position may require some regional travel.
