ADAS Simulation Engineer

Vehicle Attribute Engineering at Ford is dedicated to ensure the best possible driver experience for our customers.In this role, engineers will use simulation methods improve vehicle level development, validation and verification of Advanced Driver Assist Systems. Features include but are not limited to Adaptive Cruise Control, Highway Assist, Automatic Emergency Braking, Evasive Steer Assist, Cross Traffic Alert, Active Park Assist, Trailer Back-Up Assist and Adaptive Front Lighting.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of HMI models using QT, React or Simulink
  • Lead integration of HMI models into a full vehicle simulation model
  • Support the Ford Hardware in the Loop, Simulator and User experience teams with models required to verify and validate the HMI systems for ADAS
  • Lead the integration of the plant and controller models for ADAS into an overall vehicle model
  • Lead the development of a simulation environment to enable the simulation of ADAS features
  • Lead the development of simulation test cases for the verification of ADAS features
  • Execute the simulation test cases to verify the operation of the ADAS features and evaluate the vehicle behavior and its impact on customer experience
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • 2+ years of experience in product development
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Engineering
  • 2+ years of experience using tools such as QT, React, HTML or unreal engine
  • 2+ years of experience in ADAS features such as Parking, Trailering, Driver Assist and Collision Avoidance features
  • 2+ years of simulation experience using MathWorks Simulink frameworks or equivalent
  • Hands-on experience developing vehicle or system level HIL environment
  • Experience in development of control systems algorithms
  • Experience in Vehicle CAN network (CANayzer/CANape)
  • Experience with Human-Machine Interface (HMI) development
  • Experience with remote sensing systems such as radar, camera, LIDAR or ultrasonic
  • Experience developing software in-game engine environments
