Internship - Gems and Minerals Collection - Spring 2021

The Gems and Minerals Center at the Perot Museum aims to elevate interest and understanding of gems and minerals. An intern is needed for spring 2021 (January - May) to catalog the permanent gems and minerals collection, prepare for an incoming temporary exhibit in the Lyda Hill Gems and Minerals Hall, and assist with geology related educational programming. 

The intern’s schedule would be a 4 hour shift 1 day a week. The selected intern will gain insider knowledge of curatorial work specific to handling mineral specimens, creating exhibits, and collaborating with other museum departments.

Applicants should be entering their junior or senior year of college. Completion of some course work related to mineralogy and/or geology is preferred.
