Requirements of the Travel Dental Hygienist:
  • Ability to live and work in a new area for 4 months or longer
  • Reliable vehicle
  • Must apply for license or already be licensed in Virginia, Maryland, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Illinois, Connecticut, New York, and/or Washington DC
  • Excellent communication, organizational and time management skills
  • Enthusiastic, reliable and flexible
  • Current CPR and OSHA certifications needed
  • New graduates and experienced hygienists may apply
Job Responsibilities:
  • Perform oral inspections and examinations.
  • Order and take dental x-rays.
  • Perform generally accepted oral hygiene duties including, but not limited to:
  • Supra and subgingival scaling.
  • Impressions for study models.
  • Placement of temporary restorations and re-cement crowns.
  • Suture removal.
  • Oral prophylaxis and polishing.
  • Placement of occlusion sealants.
  • Application of topical fluoride.
  • Provide oral health education to patients, including preventive care and nutrition.
  • Carry a patient caseload in accordance with Company goals for quality care and productivity.
  • Maintain all dental records as prescribed by the policy as well as in accordance with accepted standards.
  • Assist in ordering, receiving and storage of dental supplies.
  • Immediate report any problems or unusual occurrences to supervisor.
  • Must demonstrate a professional, courteous and respectful attitude in dealing with patients, immediate supervisor and other employees.
  • Practice accepted infection control measures in accordance with the OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Standards, and Company Policies and Procedures.
  • Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient served.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
