Requirements of the Travel Dental Hygienist:
- Ability to live and work in a new area for 4 months or longer
- Reliable vehicle
- Must apply for license or already be licensed in Virginia, Maryland, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Illinois, Connecticut, New York, and/or Washington DC
- Excellent communication, organizational and time management skills
- Enthusiastic, reliable and flexible
- Current CPR and OSHA certifications needed
- New graduates and experienced hygienists may apply
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform oral inspections and examinations.
- Order and take dental x-rays.
- Perform generally accepted oral hygiene duties including, but not limited to:
- Supra and subgingival scaling.
- Impressions for study models.
- Placement of temporary restorations and re-cement crowns.
- Suture removal.
- Oral prophylaxis and polishing.
- Placement of occlusion sealants.
- Application of topical fluoride.
- Provide oral health education to patients, including preventive care and nutrition.
- Carry a patient caseload in accordance with Company goals for quality care and productivity.
- Maintain all dental records as prescribed by the policy as well as in accordance with accepted standards.
- Assist in ordering, receiving and storage of dental supplies.
- Immediate report any problems or unusual occurrences to supervisor.
- Must demonstrate a professional, courteous and respectful attitude in dealing with patients, immediate supervisor and other employees.
- Practice accepted infection control measures in accordance with the OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Standards, and Company Policies and Procedures.
- Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient served.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
