Summer Intern- Structured Finance

Position Overview

• Streamline RGA’s data capture processes for determining costs to finance the business to support decision making.

• Improve on the cost allocation process to business units for external reporting.

• Review RGA’s current corporate owned life insurance (COLI), and potential strategies to make them more effective. 

Responsibilities

• Improve RGA’s Financing Cost calculation processes. This includes capturing actual current costs, and capturing projected costs over the next 4-5 years from financing transactions, including reinsurance agreements, asset swaps, or other regulatory financing tools.

• Aligned with above, assist in the redesign of “Tier 2” segment charge process to align more closely with true costs, but using data items that are more readily available. This will utilize an understanding of multiple accounting regimes, both current and in development.

• Under direction, develop models to compare premium payment and other strategies to improve long-term returns on COLI policies.
