Portfolio Management Internship (Summer Semester)
Position Summary
The intern will gain insight to multi-asset portfolio management along with exposure to a broad range of asset classes including: global equity, global fixed income, real assets, and diversifying strategies such as hedge funds and private equity. This experience will originate from dedicated and ad-hoc research performed by the intern with the oversight of VP, Portfolio Management. The position will involve broad interaction within Fund Evaluation Group.
Position Responsibilities
- Ad-hoc research supporting the portfolio management team
- Produce and update ongoing portfolio management reporting
- Attend weekly investment advisory meetings and support the management of the meeting
- Participate in investment manager meetings in conjunction with members of the portfolio management team and contribute to the analysis of managers
- Dedicated project work for the duration of the internship supporting portfolio management needs. Projects have and may involve asset allocation studies, custom performance analysis, etc.
- Develop various portfolio reporting tools including exposure and risk reporting as well as performance attribution
- Assist hedge fund operations with calculating various fund details (e.g., performance) and reconciling various fund details with fund administrator(s)
Qualifications
- The right candidate will possess a strong academic profile and GPA and will be in pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in business administration with an emphasis in finance or a related field and interest in an investment career
- The position entails a one or two-semester commitment and the requirement of 40 hours/week
- Broad understanding of investment strategies and industry
- Strong analytical and both verbal and written communication skills, as well as a sense of intellectual curiosity, are critical
- Ability to work independently
- Demonstrates a high level of integrity, initiative, dependability, and team orientation.
- Strong Microsoft Excel experience preferred. Bloomberg knowledge helpful
