Cloud & Infrastructure Administrator
HNI Corporation is looking for Cloud & Infrastructure Administrators to join our IT team in 2021! You’ll get solid and broad systems administration and networking experience early in your career, across a range of technologies, all while supporting HNI’s strategic cloud transformation from the ground up. You will collaborate on new solutions, support and improve existing technologies, and serve as a valued consultant to cross-functional IT teams.
WHAT YOU’LL BE WORKING ON
Cloud Transformation
- Collaborate with a variety of IT teams to implement multi-cloud solutions for many of the functions shown below
- Perform day-to-day operations and maintenance of cloud-based systems
- Set up virtualized network/compute/storage environments
- Establish virtualized backups
- Consult with project managers and other IT stakeholders to recommend appropriate server and network configurations to meet business needs
Infrastructure—Network Operations
- Provide technical support on the LAN/WAN, seeking resolutions with both hardware and software issues, and partnering with vendors to coordinate repairs when needed
- Install hardware and software upgrades
- Proactively enhance connectivity by collaborating on the redesign or ordering of new connections or hardware
Infrastructure—Systems Administration
- Install, maintain, and configure operating systems, along with new/existing services and applications
- Manage OS performance by monitoring metrics, reporting/troubleshooting failures, and partnering with vendors as needed
- Support existing applications and services by upgrading software, troubleshooting problems, implementing changes, configuring solutions, and verifying functionality
- Support member needs by establishing user accounts, groups, DNS entries, mailboxes, Citrix applications, web applications, and many others
- Design, install, configure, support, and test reliable solutions for disaster recovery and business continuity
YOU’LL BUILD KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS WITH A VARIETY OF TECHNOLOGIES including Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
WHAT IT TAKES
- 4-year college degree with a major in Management Information Systems (MIS), Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related IT emphasis. Upcoming 2021 graduates are encouraged to apply!
- Minimum 2.8 GPA; above 3.0 preferred
- Related work experience, internships and/or campus activities
- Strong technical aptitude and solid infrastructure knowledge, including networking and systems administration fundamentals
- Desire to contribute broadly across multiple infrastructure and cloud transformation teams and focus areas
- Strong communication skills—able to communicate with technical and non-technical audiences effectively—in writing, virtually, and in person
- Self-starter with strong personal motivation and desire to take initiative and ownership
