We not only cover culture creators and venues with high name recognition, but also delight in helping to showcase bold, creative strokes by fledgling artists in all genres.

As Assistant Children’s Book Editor you will be responsible for monitoring Facebook groups devoted to self-publishers, and similar pages, to identify best matches for our growing coverage, and implement personal communications to explore interest from those authors—both in having their books reviewed and joining our ranks of volunteer Children’s Book reviewers.

Associate Children’s Book Editors will share in these responsibilities and will additionally research other children’s book publishers whose titles match the magazine’s editorial focus for children’s literature. Associate Editors will also be trained in professional correspondence methods; how to layout book review articles in the magazine; and how to publicize these stories in social media.  Time permitting, this position may include taking on responsibilities of being the Children’s Book Review Assignment Editor, matching reviewers with books.

Your responsibilities, for either position, will also include submitting weekly reports to the Editor-in-Chief; your upcoming weekly schedule projections; as well as creating a cumulative report on your internship achievements.

Please Note: ALL Picture This Post editors and writers are volunteers—from top to bottom. There is not a paid internship opportunity

Time commitment for the Assistant Editor position is 5 hours/week per semester.
Associate Editor is 10 hours/ week—in all cases, except for weeks needing time-off to study for exams and other school/life priorities, pre-arranged with the Editor-in-Chief.

This position is an excellent opportunity for anyone interested in getting a pulse on Children’s Literature, publishing, and self-publishing trends.
