Pharmacy Technician, Dispense

Smartscripts is seeking a Pharmacy Technician for our Dispense area
 
1st Shift position!

Position Overview

The Pharmacy Technician, Dispense position is responsible for dispensing patient medications safely and accurately along with optimizing machine performance for maximum quality outputs. 

Position Responsibilities

  • Replenish pharmacy robots with appropriate inventory by retrieving medications, changing canisters, and changing paper
  • Use various programs to run reports and manage the efficiency of robots and completion of daily orders
  • Troubleshoot issues with pharmacy robots/ workflow and escalate to the Fulfillment Supervisor when necessary
  • Communicates with various team members and departments to ensure the job is completed accurately and efficiently
  • Daily cleaning of robots
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace
  • Promote effective working relationships with team members to meet company objectives
  • Maintains strict confidentiality according to HIPPA rules and regulations
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Education and Experience

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Must be a Certified Pharmacy Technician or Technician Trainee. If a Technician Trainee must take exam within 6 months of hire date and become certified within one year of start date.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Some pharmacy or work experience in a healthcare environment
 
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
  • Criminal background check and drug screen required

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The employee is required to sit and stand for an 8 hour shift. The employee is required to occasionally, climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, and crouch. The employee may lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
