Feed Location Manager

United Cooperative has an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to join our cooperative team at a newly upgraded facility south of Green Bay, WI in Denmark, WI as a Feed Location Manager.
Position Overview:
This position will require excellent communication and people skills, as well as prior experience overseeing daily operations while maintaining a positive work environment and a high degree of customer service and employee morale.
Job responsibilities:
  • Manage the total operation of the feed production facility according to divisional objectives while maintaining the efficiency necessary to achieve a maximum margin of profit.
  • Develop and maintain the daily manufacturing schedule and logistics of feed operations.
  • Supervise and support training of all plant personnel with emphasis on improving productivity, safety, and developing a safe working environment.
  • Coordinate ingredient purchasing, formulation, pricing with the support office.
  • Coordinate and supervise ordering, receiving and positioning of ingredient inventories.
  • Supervise plant transportation fleet to assure efficient use and customer service/satisfaction.
  • Ensure DOT compliance.
  • Supervise office functions including accurate accounting and reporting.
  • Evaluate and make recommendations to improve existing programs of manufacturing facility housekeeping, safety and equipment maintenance to avoid breakdowns and limit safety hazards.
  • Manage the staff through responsible training, clear job assignment definition and explanation, performance and effectively reward and develop all employees.
  • Provide work direction to the department supervisors and staff.

About the facility:
This position is with a progressive member cooperative at a location that promotes feed, grain, energy and agronomy. The facility offers bulk and bagged feeds, specialty mixes, scheduled delivery and nutrition services including calf health and nutrition. The facility is newly upgraded and is located in an area with an excellent school systems and recreational activities.
Qualifications:
  • Must have at least 3 years’ experience in feed or related operations, such as manufacturing operations
  • 2 years of supervising experience with proven ability to coach and train employees
  • Working knowledge and experience with quality control and safety in a production environment
  • Must be able to lift, carry up to 50 pounds
  • Cooperative and agricultural background helpful, but not required
