By 2060 the US senior population is estimated to rise to a total of more than 100 million people. Here at State Farm’s Labs, we help seniors live life on their terms, with the level of support they’d prefer, while providing assurance to those who love them. This includes utilizing virtual assistants and mobile applications to link seniors to their loved ones.
We are looking for software developers interns to join our Senior Living team. Experience with mobile and/or Alexa skill development is needed. These team members will be responsible for delivering full-stack and/or mobile applications. They will have the opportunity to build a unique suite of products (including using voice and mobile user interfaces) for seniors and their family members.
Expertise in one of the following languages/platforms is beneficial: Swift/iOS, Kotlin/Android, ES6/AWS Lambda. Experience with voice user interface, dialog systems, or AWS Lambda API development is a plus.
We Are Looking For The Following:
· Current Juniors & Seniors majoring in Computer Science/Information Systems/IT or equivalent
· GPA 3.2/4.0 preferred qualification
· Experience with mobile or Alexa skill
· Problem-solver mindset, and initiative to drive change
· Effective communication skills, both oral and written
· Ability to work in team environment
· Demonstrated ability to effectively analyze and execute professional level work
What You Can Expect:
· Our internship will occur between May 17th, 2021 - July 30th, 2021.
· Selected interns will work approx. 38.75 hours/week
· Internship Location - either our Palo Alto, CA or our Tempe, AZ location. Please indicate preference.
