Director of Resource Development Internship

The Director of Resource Development is a new position on the Leading Women of Tomorrow (LWT) corporate staff team that will be critical for supporting the organization’s financial operations. The Director of Resource Development will have the opportunity to develop innovative pathways to optimize LWT’s funding base. They will work closely with the CFO and COO to perform tasks such as applying for grants, recruiting donors, and planning fundraisers. This is an entirely virtual position, so all applicants must have access to a computer to be able to work remotely.

Students should consult with academic faculty to determine if this unpaid experience will earn credit.

Responsibilities:
  • Organize fundraisers to support the mission and programming efforts of Leading Women of Tomorrow.
  • Identify grant opportunities and write applications on behalf of Leading Women of Tomorrow.
  • Develop innovative strategies for recruiting donors.
  • Create systems that feature reachable fundraising goals and usable metrics.
  • Help build a culture of philanthropy by deploying additional fundraising training for staff and Board members. 

Required Qualifications:
  • Currently attending or recently graduated from an Accredited Post-Secondary Institution (an undergraduate or graduate program).
  • Must be able to commit 5-10 hours per week to the position.
  • This is an entry-level position, little to no experience required, all training will be provided.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong persuasive writing skills.
  • Experience working with platforms such as Candid or Grant Watch.
  • Great strategic planning and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong research skills and knowledge of information sources
  • Ability to stay organized while managing multiple simultaneous projects.
  • Possession of a self-starter attitude and willingness to take initiative.
  • Basic familiarity with Google Drive programs, such as Google Docs, Google Spreadsheets, and Google Forms.
  • Ability to handle confidential matters with utmost integrity.
  • Passion for empowering women to pursue careers in public service.
