Operations and Advocacy Intern, Winter-Spring 2021

The internship begins at the beginning of January 2021 and extends through May 2021. We rely on internships and fellowships for undergraduates, graduate students, and law students to increase our organizational capacity and to develop the next generation of human rights leaders.

Operations and Advocacy Intern, Winter-Spring 2021
·        12-15 hours per week
·        Remote (in-office work TBD)
·        Unpaid; can arrange course credit in relevant disciplines. Students at the University of Minnesota may qualify for CLA funding.

Responsibilities
·        Provide administrative support at courses, lectures, special programs, and workshops
·        Conduct research as needed
·        Provide support for legislative initiatives at city and state levels
·        Perform various duties in donor relations and marketing communications
·        Handle website and social media updates and revisions as needed

Required Qualifications:
·        B.A. (or currently pursuing) in any relevant field including history, political science, global studies, etc.
·        Ability to work well with diverse individuals and organizations
·        Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and Zoom
·        Effective time management and organization skills
·        Clear and professional written and spoken communication skills
·        Strong problem-solving skills, flexibility, and the ability to work well independently
·        Commitment to human rights
 
Desired Qualifications:
·        Experience providing administrative support in an office setting.
·        Background in Holocaust and genocide history
·        Experience in a legislative setting (city, state, or national level)
·        Knowledge of InDesign, Photoshop, and/or video software
