Software Product Owner Intern

Position Overview
Through hands-on experience as well as observational and mentorship activities, the Software Product Owner Intern will have the opportunity to learn about several aspects of Information Technology, Agile Software Development, Biotechnology and working in a real business environment.
Primary responsibilities will be to provide support services to Exact Sciences employees; primarily in the Redwood City, CA location, but remote support for geographically diverse employees.
Essential Duties
  • Assist with Agile user story writing, grooming and management of backlog
  • Support business requirements analysis to ensure the correct requirement have been gathered related to digital product offerings and utilize analysis tools such as use cases and process flows to translate into user story acceptance criteria.
  • Support an effective user experience by creating wireframes, capturing user interface requirements from an end user point of view and utilizing an eye for visual detail.
  • Support writing of functional specifications to ensure proper delivery of business requirements.
  • Work effectively in a team-oriented environment with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Act as a problem solver to drive successful completion of assigned tasks.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  • Establish positive working relationships with team members, vendors and IT customers.
  • Friendly and positive demeanor with a desire to demonstrate the high standards of customer service
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to use computers daily in an interactive manner for extended periods of time and up to 8 hours per day.
  • Ability to travel between facilities in the metropolitan area as needed.
  • Ability to frequently and accurately communicate with employees, customers, and vendors in person, via the telephone or by email.
  • Constant walking or motion to coordinate work and interact with co-workers.
Education and Experience
  • Currently pursuing bachelor’s degree in junior or senior standing.
  • Appetite to learn; general business acumen.
