Business Development Intern (Summer 2021 - Business/Engineering Majors)

Intern With The Industrial Electrical Infrastructure (IEI) Business Development Group in Tinley Park, IL 

The Industrial Electrical Infrastructure (IEI) Business Development team includes business development of large new product lines for Panduit and is charged with executing Ideation, Innovation and Collaboration to identify and execute on: 

  • Developing Vertical Market Insights leading to New Product Line proposals 
  • Develop and manage IEI Partnerships 
  • Specific focus for Internship can be electric vehicle and alternate energy markets.   
Projects You Will Be Working On Include, But Not Limited To:  
Vertical Market Research: 

  • Student will learn the practical application of market sizing of Total Available Market (TAM) and Serviceable Available Market (SAM) for major market subsegments through public information, formulation of Statements of Work for outsourced market research, and available syndicated market research. 

Competitive Analysis: 

  • Student will learn to create a SWOT analysis for targeted Vertical Market product categories. 

Voice Of Customer Research:  

  • Student will learn to create VOC Research through tools such as Survey Monkey and 1:1 end user, rep firm, and distribution partners. 

Preferred Major

  • Business Management/Business Administration  
  • Engineering: Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering  
  • Marketing/Marketing Analytics  

Preferred Skills / Academic Exposure:  

  • Oral & Written Communication Skills. 
  • Reporting & Presenting Information Skills. 
  • Applicants should have knowledge of Microsoft Excel. 
  • Applicants should have experience with data mining and analytical skills.  
  • Applicants should have the ability to work independently, with attention to detail.  
  • Applicants should have the ability to multitask, problem solve, prioritize and exercise critical thinking skills. 
  • Applicants should be outgoing, confident personality with ability establish rapport.
