Financial Analyst

EPIQ is seeking a Financial Analyst to join a dynamic team in either our San Francisco or Reno office. The ideal candidate is highly motivated, a self-starter and demonstrates a passion for global financial markets and an interest in pursuing a career in private wealth management (PWM).

EPIQ Financial Analysts assist Senior Portfolio Managers in the oversight and management of client investment portfolios. In addition to investment management services, Analysts will assist with broader wealth planning strategies for clients that include estate planning, private banking, lending and philanthropy.

Principal Analyst responsibilities

  • Reporting – Reporting is a critical component of the role, and encompasses portfolio and performance reporting, quarterly tax reporting, and the construction of presentations for prospective clients. Analysts utilize Addepar (EPIQ’s financial reporting software), Excel, and Powerpoint, and liaise with external managers and a client’s CPA to ensure data is current and accurate.

  • Asset Allocation – Analysts assist with implementing a long-term asset allocation framework for each client based on risk tolerance and liquidity needs. Working in Addepar and Excel, analysts ensure that client portfolios are in-line with target allocations and assist with periodic rebalancing.

  • Monitor portfolios – Using proprietary modeling tools and Jacobi (EPIQ’s risk management software), analysts ensure that portfolios are in-line with defined risk and liquidity targets, and monitor private commitment pacing for each client.

  • Trade Execution & Private Investing – As portfolios are rebalanced and new capital deployed, Analysts are responsible for executing public security trades, and will oversee our Private Fund commitment process. This involves capturing client demand in EPIQ’s CRM system, ensuring required documentation is signed-off on, and working with our Fund Administrator to upload new commitments into Addepar.

  • Review & Recommend Investments – As investments are added to the platform, Analysts will review potential demand based on need / suitability and make recommendations to clients. Understanding the role of each investment within a portfolio and being able to effectively communicate this to clients will be a required skill as an Analyst progresses.

  • External Partners  Analysts will assist with broader wealth planning strategies for clients. This requires close working relationships with multiple CPAs, Attorneys, Insurance Brokers, and Private Bankers.

In addition to these core functions, the Analyst role provides substantial opportunities for project work, and we encourage employees to initiate and contribute to ideas that improve internal processes and drive Firm growth.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or a related field (GPA of 3.5+ preferred)
  • 1 – 2 years of relevant work experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication, with advanced analytical skills
  • Excellent interpersonal approach and comfortable working as part of a collaborative team
  • Ability to multi-task and operate with a high degree of accuracy
  • Series 65 (must be obtained within 3 months of joining)

Location
San Francisco or Reno

Compensation & Benefits
Competitive salary and bonus-eligible. 401(K) matching plus a comprehensive benefits package that includes but is not limited to health insurance, dental insurance, PTO, and education assistance.
