Pricing & Growth Strategy Analyst

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Alarm.com (ALRM) is a high-growth SaaS company driving innovation in the Internet of Things (IoT) space. We’ve experienced steady, healthy growth over the past several years and established a high-performing traditional FP&A team along the way. We are seeking a Pricing & Growth Strategy Analyst to optimize our pricing strategies and inform our financial analysis as we continue to scale. In this role, you will be responsible for providing analytical support and project management to teams throughout the organization. You should thrive in a cross-functional environment and value building relationships with partners both internally and externally. In order to be successful in this role, you should possess a combination of strong quantitative abilities, business acumen, project management, and communication skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your responsibilities in this position will vary day-to-day, so you should work best in a dynamic environment. Your key areas of ownership would include:

  • Pricing strategy – gathering customer feedback and develop value-based price levels for our growing suite of products and services in a variety of product categories and channels
  • Deal design – engage with internal parties to design contract terms and structures
  • Pricing policies – develop and implement policies used to govern pricing strategy
  • Addressable market analysis - Evaluate addressable market opportunity to inform product roadmap, incorporating data from multiple sources to quantify current and future market / category growth
  • Unit economic analysis – build robust and dynamic models to evaluate business impact across different scenarios, from pricing changes, demand growth, COGS decreases, etc.
  • Comparative analysis – conduct competitive analysis and pricing research, surveys, and in market testing to understand elasticity and inform recommendations
  • Collaboration - work cross functionally with sales, finance, legal, business intelligence, marketing, product, and others

EXPECTATIONS FOR SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES:

  • You have excellent leadership skills and are successful in matrixed organizations
  • You are a team player and have strong analytical and people skills
  • You’re an expert at diving into the details, developing a strategy, and then explaining them in simple terms
  • You’re a self-starter and a proven team player in a high achievement-oriented environment
  • You have the proven ability to develop creative/non-traditional solutions with strategic thinking
  • You can take the complex and make it simple
  • Demonstrated interest in technology and finance
  • Understanding of subscription-based business models
  • Undergraduate degree – preferably with advanced course work in Finance and/or Economics
  • 1-3 years’ experience in an analyst or similar data-centric role
  • Working knowledge of accounting and financial concepts
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, with a strong understanding of pivot tables, vlookups, advanced formulas, etc.
