The Indicator Intern (REMOTE) - Winter/Spring 2021

A thriving, mission-driven multimedia organization, NPR produces award-winning news, information, and music programming in partnership with hundreds of independent public radio stations across the nation. The NPR audience values information, creativity, curiosity, and social responsibility – and our employees do too. We are innovators and leaders in diverse fields, from journalism and digital media to IT and development. Every day, our employees and member stations touch the lives of millions worldwide and that includes our interns.

From day one, interns at NPR are given real-world, hands-on responsibilities. Working alongside top professionals in the field, interns do meaningful work across a variety of departments at NPR.

Across our organization, we’re building a workplace where collaboration is essential, diverse voices are heard, and inclusion is the key to our success.

NPR’s Winter/Spring 2021 Internship Program will be fully remote.

Program Duration: January 11 - April 16, 2021

Do you ever wonder about the future of work? Or the impacts of tariffs? Do you have strong feelings about the productivity paradox? Are you a regular listener of The Indicator from Planet Money? (A must!) Are you ready to hit the phones in search of the perfect character? To read the footnotes of CRS reports? To write the perfect tweet that celebrates the glory of the yield curve? Do you read nerdy econ and business blogs for fun?

We're a very small, highly productive team of deeply curious economics and business reporters, and we love telling stories and geeking out about economics. We make five short podcasts a week, and every day is a dash to do the best we can, find the smartest guests, the freshest insights. We'd love to have you along for the journey, even if it's just for a few months. We love to teach, and we're looking for someone who's eager to learn.

If this sounds like something you can throw yourself into for a semester, please apply! We'll be in touch.
