Financial Analyst - Information Systems (Data & Analytics) - New York

Houlihan Lokey’s Data & Analytics Group specializes in providing high-quality, relationship-based advice to clients whose businesses offer data and analytics solutions to a broad range of end markets. We have an extensive track record of working with domestic and international clients and delivering creative, effective, and successful outcomes based on our deep understanding of our clients, their business models, and the markets in which they operate. With a team of 40 bankers with extensive sector expertise, we have closed in excess of 60 transactions in the last three years.

The industry end markets in which our clients operate include B2B Information, Energy & Commodities, Fintech & Financial Information, GRC, Legal & Regulatory, Healthcare & Pharmaceutical, Information Technology, Insurance, Media & Marketing Communications, Real Estate, Research & IP, Transport, Supply Chain & Logistics.

Job Description

As a Financial Analyst in the Data & Analytics Group, you will work on corporate finance engagements in the sectors mentioned above. The group's engagements principally include M&A, capital raising, fairness opinions and strategic advisory assignments. As a dedicated member of our transaction team you will be responsible for supporting these assignments, with the following responsibilities: (i) prepare, analyze and explain financial information of a given company and related companies within the respective industry; (ii) perform valuations of companies using traditional valuation methodologies; (iii) prepare confidential offering memorandums, management presentations, buyers lists, marketing pitches, and other presentations; and (iv) assist in the marketing and planning of engagements, on a limited basis.

In addition to executing transactions, the Data & Analytics Group is responsible for providing industry-specific knowledge and expertise to the firm. As a member of our team, you will be required to develop industry intelligence and analysis to support this effort, including evaluating financial statements, general economic and industry developments, acquisitions and divestitures, and various attributes of publicly traded and private securities.

Candidates must have a strong knowledge of accounting and applied financial theory, keen analytical capabilities, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.

One to two years of corporate finance, investment banking or accounting experience is required, and an exceptional work ethic is a must.
