Treasury and Risk Management Intern (REMOTE) - Winter/Spring 2021

NPR’s Winter/Spring 2021 Internship Program will be fully remote. 
Program Duration: January 11 - April 16, 2021
INTERN RESPONSIBILITIES
  • The Treasury intern assists in the organization’s Treasury and Risk Management functions including the oversight and management of the daily cash process, developing and maintaining reports on NPR’s long-term investments and debt.
  • Assist in developing investment manager reviews such as manager fees and audited financials and ensure manager’s monthly reports, agreements and all other required documentation is reviewed and stored electronically for record.
  • Maintain database of organization’s rating agency debt ratios and other key financial metrics.
WHO CAN APPLY?
  • LOCATION: Must be planning to work from the United States and authorized to work in the United States throughout the Winter/Spring 2021 internship dates. 
  • EDUCATION: Must be a current student in an accredited degree program or a recent graduate of no more than 12 months from the month of the start of the internship. 
REQUIRED SKILLS 
  • Strong analytical skills, familiarity with cash management, performance measurement and a solid understanding of a variety of investments vehicles preferred. Ability to perform research and make recommendations based on research.
  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency using a PC and Microsoft Office software required. Advanced Excel expertise required (including charting, formulas and other advanced functions). 
  • High organizational skills, ability to prioritize, and strong attention to detail is requested.  
  • Ability to meet daily deadlines and effectively handle multiple assignments in a fast paced environment. 
  • Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills as well as report development experience.  
PREFERRED SKILLS
  • Ability to prepare presentations using PowerPoint and familiarity with Morningstar a plus. 
  • A self-starter with willingness to take initiative and to follow through on projects is preferred.
