Job Summary
Lumen’s internship program is a 10 week, fast-paced and exciting opportunity to gain professional experience within your field of study and career interest. Interns within the Finance Organization will be part of an accelerated learning experience, to challenge skills learned in the classroom and develop new skills while working on active Lumen work projects. Interns in the Accounting department will have the potential to perform bank reconciliations, prepare reclass and correcting journal entries to cash and unapplied cash, record bank fees and intercompany wires. The internship will take place in Broomfield, CO. In addition, interns will connect to our company culture through community outreach projects, engage with our employee resource groups and be able to develop their professional skills and business acumen through frequent exposure to senior leadership, cutting-edge technology, groundbreaking projects, and a network of mentors and fellow interns. Job Description
•   Work with Cash – Accounts Receivable team members on primary cash JEs, reconciliations and other processes
•   Work with Cash – Accounts Payable team members on primary cash JEs, reconciliations and other processes
•   Support Cash Accounting team with audit requests, preparing JEs/reconciliations, process documentation, Close tasks, and ad-hoc projects 
•   Prepare entry level journal entries (SAP) and Account Reconciliations (OneStream)
•   Assist Cash Team with documenting processes (Standard Operating Procedures) 
•   Assist with audit preparation and sample requests
•   Support Cash Team with reviewing and clearing unapplied cash (Accounts Receivable), outstanding check/vender payments and considerations for Unclaimed Property (Accounts Payable)
•   Work closely with Cash Accounting Manager and Lead Accountant to complete ad-hoc projects and identify process improvements
 
Qualifications
•   Pursuing a Bachelor’s in Accounting or a similar field. 
•   Enrolled at a 4-year accredited college or university; entering junior year at the start of the internship. 
•   Cumulative GPA: 3.0 or higher preferred.
•   Strong knowledge in Microsoft Suite products: Word, Excel, PowerPoint. 
•   Minimum 12 hours of Accounting credits preferred
•   Minimum 3.0 GPA (overall and major)
•   Interested in pursuing a career in Accounting
•   Proficient with Microsoft Office/Excel 
•   Demonstrated leadership and collaborative ability
•   Attentive to detail
•   Minimum Cumulative GPA: 3.0 or higher. 
•   Must have transportation to/from work daily. 
•   Must be available to work 30 – 40 hours. 
•   Available for Summer Internship Program: 6/1/2021 – 8/13/2021.
