Tax Intern (Full Time) Spring 2021
We are seeking several dependable, enthusiastic candidates for tax internships at our West Des Moines office for the 2021 tax season. As an intern, you will primarily focus on preparing individual and business tax returns. You will be involved in all aspects of the process including client information intake, preparation of return, researching unique tax issues, review of completed returns, and additional projects as needed. As we are a tax and financial planning firm, you will also learn how opportunities for tax planning and investing strategies are identified during tax return preparation. Previous interns have found that applying concepts learned in the classroom to the real-world application has provided a rich experience that can lead to future classroom and full-time employment success.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Organizing, summarizing and analyzing tax information provided by clients
- Inputting tax information in our tax software
- Identify follow-up questions, missing information, or other requirements
- Performing quality control of completed tax returns
- Learning to identify opportunities for additional client tax and financial planning services
Requirements:
- Pursuing Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- Eagerness to learn, take ownership of assigned tasks, and problem solve
- Maintain professionalism and provide quality customer service to our customers
- Be able to work both independently and as a team member in completing tasks
- Proficient with Microsoft (MS) Windows and Office products
