Job Summary
Lumen’s internship program is a 10 week, fast-paced and exciting opportunity to gain professional experience within your field of study and career interest. Interns within the Marketing & Product Management team will be part of an accelerated learning experience, to challenge skills learned in the classroom and develop new skills while working on active Lumen work projects. Interns will have the potential to experience being responsible for managing end-to-end product performance of the family of Private Line products. The Private Line family is a mature product family and the product team manages revenues through evaluating the proper rates on the base and limiting the products available for future sales. The internship will take place in Broomfield, CO or in a Remote/Work From Home Environment and take place from June 1, 2021 - August 13, 2021. In addition, interns will connect to our company culture through community outreach projects, engage with our employee resource groups and be able to develop their professional skills and business acumen through frequent exposure to senior leadership, cutting-edge technology, groundbreaking projects, and a network of mentors and fellow interns. Job Description
Evaluating contracts for existing Private Line services. Intern will be responsible for reviewing the contractual data for existing SONET services in the base to Identify the opportunity for rate increases.
Week 1 – Introduction to the team & Private Line products to be reviewed. Obtain access to contracts databases and introductions to resources in Legal and regulatory.
Week 2 – Review Billing system data and Interstate Service Guides/Tariffs for possibility of rate increases.
Week 3 – Begin contract reviews and log opportunities for rate optimization
Weeks 4-10 – Continue contract reviews and provide weekly review

Day to day activities:
Ø Review Interstate Service Guides/Tariff data
Ø Review customer lists from billing circuits in CRIS/CABS/IABS/Ensemble (billing systems used by Lumen)
Ø Identify OCn product Class of Service codes from billing tables and product collateral.
Ø Review contract documents and determine if billing changes are possible.
Ø Log recommended rate changes by circuit ID for action
Qualifications
  • Minimum Cumulative GPA: 3.0 or higher (preferred)
  • Enrolled at a 4-year accredited college or university, in a rising junior, rising senior, or masters level status at time of internship.
  • Graduating between August 2021 – May 2023
  • Education/Degree: In pursuit of a bachelor’s level degree in business, accounting or finance in a senior level status at the start of the internship.  Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Strong sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to demonstrate ownership and accountability
  • Ability to collaborate and have agility while making effective decisions
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Flexible and adapts well to change
  • Professional appearance and attitude
  • Willing to accept coaching.
  • Proficiency in Excel. 
  • Some knowledge of SQL and querying relational databases 
  • Strong problem-solving, writing, storytelling, and presentation skills
  • Skills in data analysis, writing copy, graphics design, and agile development a plus. 
  • Intern is responsible for their travel to/from work location
  • Must be available to work 30 – 40 hours, during the specified 10-week timeframe
