Office Supervisor - Administration & Communication Coordinator

As Communications Coordinator, deliver contributions related but not limited to:
  • Coordinate, review, draft, deploy, reply, monitor, and make recommendations for social media content including, but not limited to; county website, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram.
  • Promote community engagement using social media accounts.
  • Develop and create a variety of internal and external communication vehicles including website copy, social media content, print collateral, newsletter content, and departmental program communication materials.
  • Provide assistance in preparation of press releases and other written communications primarily for the County Administrator’s office.
  • Partner with key stakeholders to identify communication initiatives and messaging campaigns in support of county services for internal and external audiences.
  • Provide social media user best practices to county departments.
  • Provide training related to county communication efforts and social media as assigned.
  • Create measurement tools to monitor progress and data on social engagement.
  • Stay abreast of new trends and innovations in the field of writing, communications, social media, graphics, and public information methods.
While working in Office Supervisor role, ensure that the following work is completed:
  • Provide office management, staff supervision, and workflow monitoring.
  • Prepare committee agendas.
  • Assemble committee packets and ensure that all packets are distributed to County Board Supervisors, citizen members/media (as requested), and appropriate departments.
  • Draft ordinances and resolutions as directed by the County Administrator.
  • Provide administrative support to ensure successful meetings between the County Administrator and community organizations.
  • Prepare correspondence to community agencies, businesses, citizens and county staff.
  • Prepare and distribute department head meeting agendas.
  • Ensure the report of liability claims to the county’s general liability insurer as directed by the County Administrator; monitor claim status and track deadlines; compile information as requested by insurance company and counsel representing the county.
  • Revise and post administrative procedures as directed by the County Administrator.
  • Answer public, staff, and County Board inquiries under the direction of the County Administrator.
  • Plan and coordinate special events.
  • Complete research and projects as assigned.
  • Represent the County Administrator on committees and at meetings as assigned by the County Administrator or appointed by the County Board.
  • Coordinate County Administrator's schedule and email.
  • Assist in preparation of annual office budget and monitor office expenditures in compliance with adopted budget and board policies.
