Location: Westfield, WI (just 60 short miles north of Madison and south of Stevens Point)
Reports to: Safety Supervisor
Job Classification: Exempt, 1st shift
Summary: The Safety Technician plays a significant role in sustaining a culture of Safety at Brakebush. This position promotes company-wide compliance with all environmental, health and safety regulations by utilizing training, coaching and ongoing involvement in incidents to increase awareness and practice of safety objectives.

Brakebush Brothers Inc is headquartered in the small central Wisconsin community of Westfield, Wisconsin. Essential Functions:
· Organizes and facilitates new employee and/or compliance training on Safety topics to include Blood Borne Pathogens (BBP), Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT), fall protection, and First Aid/CPR. Coordinates training logistics and recordkeeping.
· Maintains and implements Environmental Health Safety (EHS) programs to include lockout/tagout, Hazard Communications, PIT, and Hearing Conservation.
· Conducts inspections throughout facility and on equipment, e.g. chain/sling/hoist. Assists in accident/incident investigations.
· Administers Workers Compensation claims; coordinates Return to Work process
Required Qualifications:
- A minimum of two years’ experience in a training role; demonstrates skills to coordinate and facilitate training sessions OR an associates’ in Occupational Safety OR two-years’ experience in the Safety field.
- Experience in training coordination i.e. facilitate sessions to various group sizes and levels, find training materials, coordinate outside compliance trainers, vendors, etc.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to develop safety plans, update team members and speak articulately about investigation results, next steps, or decisions in stressful situations.
4. Competent in Microsoft Office Suite: will use Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams (to conduct virtual training)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated knowledge of basic safety practices, EHS regulations, OSHA.
2. Experience in a food processing or manufacturing facility
3. Understanding of SAP or Infinity
4. Knowledge of general First Aid and CPR
5. Strong administrative and program coordination skills
Supervisory Responsibility: No supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment: Wide variations in environment temperature (-10 freezer, 32-degree coolers, 40-degree plant, wet cold environment) noise, slippery floors and moving equipment.
Physical Demands: Position will include extensive standing at times, sitting, lifting, wearing factory required equipment while working in production, walking, visual, responding quickly to sounds and driving.
Position Type: This is an exempt position. This is a first shift position but requires training on second and third shifts as needed. Some weekend work required.
Travel: Some travel maybe required for trainings and classes.
