Event Operations Internship

Event Operations Internship Description

Objective: To help promote Kimmel Orchard & Vineyard (KOVE) while learning skills related to event and conference operations. All KOVE interns will receive cross-training in multiple areas and must be open to other duties as assigned.

Schedule: Monday-Friday; 40-45 hours per week; some weekends required; flexibility available

Wage: $12/hour; generous employee discount; subsidized summer housing available near Kimmel Orchard & Vineyard

Jesse Mendez – Orchard Team Leader
Jonathan Hood – Assistant Orchard Team Leader 
Shayna Murrell – Business & Marketing Associate/Apple Barn Team Leader

Planned Projects:
  •  Help develop and create future event packages and conference options 
  • Assist with the development of new event floor plans
  • Develop a Banquet Event Order template for all events and spaces 
  • Create and implement an annual summer festival
  • Communicate with Omaha/Lincoln businesses to advertise our event spaces
  • Assist in Apple Barn retail operations
  • Photography of orchard events and landscapes     

Eligibility and Preferred Skills:
  •  Students interested in outdoor events, educational tourism, and/or   non-profit events  
  •  Highly motivated in finding information and answers
  •  Ability to prioritize/execute and achieve desired project goals (SMART) 
  •  High level of communication skills and an initiative to learn 
  •  Efficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Word Press, and others as required
  •  19 years of age preferable 

Responsibilities:
  •  Assist Apple Barn Team Leader in social media event engagement 
  •  Maintain and schedule out future events 
  •  Quarterly events, monthly events, weekly events 
  •  Brainstorm ideas for unique family outings 
  •  Planning of volunteers and coverage for each event to include costs
  •  Conduct summer events and create templates for future events 
  •  Assist with planting and harvesting
  •  Help give tours and document crucial information points
