Remote Algorithm Design Internship

Esurgi is looking for a motivated and self-driven Algorithm Design Intern from November to May. Algorithm Design Interns at Esurgi will be in charge of developing the pseudo-code for an early-detection biofeedback eye monitor for Alzheimer’s Disease. 
 
Job Responsibilities:
  • Development of the pseudo-code for the eventual algorithm of an early-detection biofeedback sensor for Alzheimer’s Disease 
  • Function as a technical content writer for the approach section of Esurgi’s Eye AD device 
  • Acquire data to format the documentation of a biomedical device in collaboration with the engineering team 
 
Minimum Requirements:
  • Experience in machine learning/deep learning and the ability to develop a program from scratch 
  • Willingness to learn and experience working in a fast-paced startup 
  • Understanding of neuroscience, specifically with knowledge of Alzheimer’s Disease 
  • Strong mathematical and interpersonal skills 
  • Aptness to use databases, including Firebase, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and more
  • Majoring in computer science, biomedical engineering, computer engineering, or any related field 
  • Capability to write the documentation for an early-stage product
  • Aptness to communicate with executives and high-level management 
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented 
  • Web and app development experience 
  • Proficiency in multiple coding languages

About our Internships: An archetypical internship at Esurgi is essentially a special project in the work setting. The interns will be assigned a mentor with an executive background. The intern and the mentor will develop an internship plan. This will be based on the intern educational background, career goals, and realistic (preferably interdisciplinary / team) projects within the Esurgi sphere. The plan includes objectives, success factors, and deliverables. The intern and mentor will meet regularly to review the progress and plan of the intern. Typical conversations: How would you measure this in that context? I am curious about why you did not suggest those approaches. Given these available data sources, what would be your approach to calculating that?
