Unpaid Museum Exhibits Intern

Unpaid interns will help to de-install 3 exhibitions and install a new, traveling exhibition at The History Center between June 14 and July 1. The same interns are eligible to help with the de-installation of the traveling exhibition and installation of 3 small exhibitions between August 2 and August 11. Interns do not need to be available for both sets of dates to apply. The duties will include carefully moving artifacts from one location to another, lifting heavy or cumbersome objects, loading and unloading crates, using tools to construct pre-fabricated exhibition elements, cleaning exhibit cases and artifacts, following detailed written and verbal instructions, and updating database records. Successful candidates are detail oriented and work well within deadlines. Preferred majors include history, museum studies, library science or related fields, but all students are encouraged to apply.
