The Arthropod-Borne Disease Laboratory, Suffolk County Department of Health Services, in Yaphank, NY conducts countywide surveillance of arthropod-borne pathogens. The ABDL is seeking an entomologist to assist with various lab functions and field activities including the expansion of a tick surveillance program. The successful applicant will be required to conduct field work for tick collections and molecular laboratory analysis for tick-borne pathogens. Minimal qualifications for this position require either
        (a) Possession of a Master's Degree in Biology, and one (1) year of experience in the field of research on the biology and control of nuisance insects; or,
        (b) Graduation from a New York State or Regionally accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree, and three (3) years of experience in the field of research on the biology and control of nuisance insects.
