Post-doctoral Fellow - Cell and Developmental Biology

Department: Cell Cycle & Cancer Biology - Gorbsky

Job Summary
We are currently accepting applications for positions at the level of Postdoctoral research fellow to join our research team. The projects involve analysis of chromosome instability in aging, regeneration, and cancer, using molecular, bioinformatic, and advanced imaging approaches. We offer an invigorating research environment and opportunities for independent research and career advancement. Specific skills include mammalian and amphibian cell culture, fluorescence microscopy, genomic and proteomic analyses, plasmid construction and preparation, transfection of mammalian and amphibian cells, protein production and purification from bacteria. Experimental design and troubleshooting are important skills.

Minimum Qualifications
Ph.D. in one of the biological sciences, physics, chemistry or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with tissue culture, molecular biology, biochemistry and light microscopy lab techniques is preferred. Additional preference will be given to candidates with experience in: bioinformatics, genomics, proteomics, advanced live cell light microscopy, broad knowledge of molecular biology techniques, and ability to formulate and troubleshoot experimental protocols. The candidate should also possess strong abilities to organize, interpret and present data. The candidate must have strong team skills for collaborating with other laboratory members on research projects.
