Research Technician / Research Assistant

Department: Cell Cycle & Cancer Biology - Gorbsky

Job Summary
We are currently accepting applications for positions at the level of Research Technician / Senior Research Technician / Research Assistant to join our research team. We offer an invigorating research environment and opportunities for independent research and career advancement. Specific duties include mammalian and amphibian cell culture, fluorescence microscopy, plasmid construction and preparation, transfection of mammalian and amphibian cells, protein production and purification from bacteria. Experimental design and troubleshooting are important skills.

Minimum Qualifications
BA/BS degree typically in one of the biological sciences, physics, or chemistry or equivalent years of professional, paid, relevant laboratory experience.

Should be familiar with lab techniques.

Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with tissue culture, molecular biology, and light microscopy lab techniques is preferred.
Additional preference will be given to candidates with experience in: genomics, proteomics, live cell imaging, broad knowledge of molecular biology techniques, and ability to independently formulate and troubleshoot experimental protocols.
The candidate should also possess strong abilities to organize, interpret and present data. The candidate must have strong team skills for collaborating with other laboratory members on research projects.
